Better Futures is extremely proud to offer the ZERO TO THREE Critical Competencies for Infant-Toddler Educators™. The aim of our 45 hour course is to preserve a unique perspective and spirit, in a way that fulfills the significant future potential of young children. As the latest addition to Better Futures's professional development portfolio, available to the ECE industry, this exclusive course has already proven that it respects and supports teachers in their values, traditions and desire to offer children an incomparable level of quality, provide opportunities for infant-toddler educators to observe, understand, and reflect on critical interactions with infants and toddlers that support and nurture their social-emotional, cognitive, language and literacy development and learning.

The 45 hour Certificate, only available after an intense certification process, is facilitated by two of the foremost experts in the field, Dr. Carlena Vaden and Dr. Robert Gundling, Co-Founder of Better Futures. The course takes a scenario-based approach, and uses observation, modeling of best practice, critical thinking, and reflection on one’s own practice to facilitate and support knowledge and skill building. Each live webinar is designed for those who work in home and/or center-based group settings with infants and/or toddlers. The class reminded me again of the importance of communication. It’s an essential part in the Early Childhood Education field. Learning about "serve and return" as a starting point for a great conversation was one of many things that stood out to me in this class. Informative were the reflections, team activities and visuals presented by the instructor, Dr. Robert Gundling. The word wall activity will be incorporated into our classroom routine as well.
